[But it's not numbers. It's remorse. She's seen the Doctor devastated by even one death, so even if he had killed more than her, it wasn't the number.]

[Snarls and growls, spinning the chair backwards to lean on it.] He really... That is--! [Another wolf growl and huff.]
[The growling surprised her. Her eyebrows raise and she regards the girl for a long moment. She hadn't expected such a... Visceral... Reaction to the tracker. She'd accepted it without argument, after all.
She slowly lowered herself into a chair, taking the offered brownie. Someone was angry on her behalf. That had never happened before. Except for the Doctor, of course. This was entirely foreign to her. This girl presumably knew who she was, had been warned about her, and yet was furious about the Doctor keeping tabs on her. She... Wasn't sure how she felt about that.
The question caught her off guard. She hesitated, hands lowering to the table as the names and faces flitted through her mind. She turned her head, looking down as she fought to keep those pesky new emotions in check. It hadn't been so long since she'd cried for the first time in millenia. Cried over those she'd killed. Actually grieved. Her voice was soft when she finally answered. ]
Millions... Perhaps billions. It's... Difficult to know.
[Whoa what's happening?! Her eyes widen in shock as Rose suddenly embraces her. She's frozen to the spot, unsure what to do. It's a very long moment before she hesitantly raises her arms to return that embrace.]
[A small squeeze, but then a bad wolf huff before pouring them both tea, and going back to her chair.]
It's hard to even deal with taking one life, even if you didn't want it, didn't do it, tried not to let it happen. The first time you can really start thinking of other ways, ways to make people survive...
[But she chews her bottom lip, thinking of Donna.]
[And just fuzzily shakes her head.]
Was he always like this? So... [No, she can't ask that.]

He wasn't when I first met him. After the war. Oh sure, he could be bossy, and threatened to kick Jack out on his ass over guns, but I thought...
He always said he didn't come to save Earth, he was just passing through. But now it seems like... [She just shrugs vaguely, not about to open up one of his possible vulnerabilities to an even hypothetical enemy.]
Commandeering, yeah? And it's not just around you. Blimey I nearly knocked him one first night, for treating me more like a child than my own parents. [Snorts.] That's definitely new. For whatever reason. [To protect himself, she has to assume.]
[And she facepalms.] I swear I did not come here to talk about him, just you.
[Yes, good. Changing the subject. Thank you. She clears her throat, brushing off her skirt and crossing her legs, all very ladylike. When Rose pours the tea she gives her a nod of thanks.]
Commandeering? Well, now, that's one way to put it. [She chuckles.] But I'm sure you know it's silly to ask if he's always been like anything. Every regeneration is different, after all.
[She pauses, shrugging as she lifts her mug.]
Though he has always had some inexplicable soft spot for your little planet. Don't ask me why, I've no idea.
[Arching an eyebrow at her, she takes a sip of her tea. There's no malice in her voice as she continues, speaking matter of factly.]
To us you are a child, dear. I've been imprisoned longer than you've been alive.
[Pursing her lips, she sets her tea down and leans forward a bit.]
You want to talk about me? Tell me, then, what would you like to know?
It's hardly as simple as all that. And which of them said he was 900? Because one of them would be a liar liar pants on fire.
[She laughs. But the question actually gives her pause. She thinks. Really thinks.]
Now there's a difficult one to answer. I'm afraid my memories have been a bit scrambled through the centuries. But there are so many to choose from. Though... Most of them are ones that I'd held in fond regard for so long but are now so tainted.
[Sipping her tea, she thought for another moment.]
Although... No, I've got it.
[She grinned, then. A broad grin with a touch of madness to it.]
I was finally able to poke Davros in that stupid third eye of his. I'd always wanted to do that!
[Giggles at that!] Big ears and uhhh fluffy cockatoo hair with the pinstripes? [Mimes the hair.] The one with Crowley's face, but not ginger. Whinged a good deal about it too.
[Another giggle and shakes head.] Sorry, Davros? Not another TimeLord, yeah? [Although she could understand the desire. Even the silurian Dalai lama, Rose had to resist the urge!]
[She thinks about it. The big ears didn't sound familiar, but she knew the other face Rose was describing. Knew him incredibly well, in fact. But she wasn't about to ruin a perfectly good conversation with talk of nastiness like that.]
Hmmm. Actually, it's possible he was telling the truth. Rather difficult to say, though. I wouldn't blame him, it is a tad depressing to admit one's over a thousand years old.
[Curious, she tilts her head. Oooohhhh so the great Rose Tyler didn't know everything, after all. She swallowed down her instinct to rub her face in it... mostly. Scoffing softly, she waved a hand.]
Quite the opposite, in fact. I'm surprised he never told you about Davros. I'd have thought Daleks would have come up once or twice in your travels, persistent things that they are.
Dearie, the Dalek Emperors are like tissues. You kill one and another one's going to pop on up after. they're quite efficient that way. I must say, though, I've never heard of killing one quite like that. It must be quite the impressive tale.
[She takes a bite of her brownie, chewing thoughtfully for a moment. Once she swallows she adds, almost as an after thought.]
Oh and Davros? He's only the creator of the Daleks.
[Sorry, Rose. She's being good but she's still more than a little rude. It's instinctive at this point. She shrugs, shaking her head a little.]
By doing what he's always done, I imagine - being a coward and letting his so-called children suffer for it. But really, I've no idea. I thought he was deader than a door nail.
[Smiling, she gestures to her brownie before picking up her tea cup to take a sip]
These are wonderful! I can't remember the last time I've had such a delightful sweet.
